At Rescuing Hearts Foundation (RHF), we believe in a world where every young person has the knowledge, support, and faith to rise above life’s challenges.
Founded in January 2018 as Virtuous Sisters Forum and officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in June 2024, we are a youth-focused, faith-based non-profit organization committed to transforming lives in rural communities.
Our Story
Our journey began with a mission rooted in personal experience. Growing up, our founder, Oluwatosin Joseph, faced social challenges such as poverty and sexual abuse, opening her up to greater struggles, circumstances that left her vulnerable yet determined.
Through God’s intervention and access to timely resources, her life was redeemed and transformed.
This profound experience became the foundation of RHF’s vision:
To educate, empower, and equip young people to overcome the obstacles they face—be it abuse, poverty, or lack of opportunity—and fulfill their God-given potential.
What We Do
At RHF, we address the root causes of societal issues while providing practical and spiritual solutions. Our key initiatives include:
- Empowered Girls; Empowered Communities
We connect with girls aged 12-19 in rural areas, providing mentorship, sexual abuse education, menstrual hygiene support, and relief materials like sanitary pads, food, and educational supplies. By addressing their unique challenges, we empower them to build brighter futures.
- Before and After Sexual Abuse
Through consent education and zero-tolerance campaigns, we raise awareness in schools, marketplaces, and churches, helping communities prevent abuse. For survivors, we offer support, connect them to professional resources, and guide them on their journey to healing and justice.
- Skill Empowerment Programs
We train young people in vocational and digital skills to enhance economic independence, reduce vulnerability, and curb crime. By partnering with organizations and professionals, we offer free training that unlocks their potential and fosters self-reliance.
- School Outreach and Mentorship
Our holistic approach addresses peer pressure, poor menstrual hygiene, and the impact of neglect on children. Social workers provide one-on-one counseling, while mentorship programs equip students to thrive academically and socially.
- Help the Vulnerable
We support teenage mothers, abused children, and neglected individuals, connecting them with shelter, food, counseling, and educational opportunities through partnerships with professionals and organizations.
Our Uniqueness
We believe that transformation requires a balance of practical action and spiritual grounding. While we address social issues, the God factor is at the heart of everything we do. We introduce young people to faith, knowing that true, sustainable change comes from God’s guidance and grace.
